The CITGO Petroleum Corporation retained American Construction Services, Inc. (ACS) in late 2009 to relocate their entire Tampa Terminal underground fuel distribution piping network aboveground to meet current United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulations for underground pipelines that transfer petroleum products.
CITGO requested that ACS complete critical tie-ins by December 31, 2009 in order to meet FDEP mandates to have all operable fuel distribution pipelines aboveground by the milestone date. ACS was able to achieve this milestone date by implementing an accelerated work schedule, working overtime as warranted, and working closely with CITGO personnel to minimize disruption to normal terminal activities as work progressed.
Work for this project was completed on-time, under budget, and without safety incident which included more than 10,000 man-hours of work. |
